21st CCLC 6th Graders Participate in NASA STEM Challenge

The 6th grade team participated in the NASA STEM challenge from February through May.  They were charged with building a miniature prototype that NASA could use for future explorations. The group Skyped with NASA engineers about the logistics of designing a Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV)  for  Mars.  The team selected their own materials and created a replica of a CEV that could hold two astronauts, handle impact, and deploy a parachute. 21st CCLC teacher, Roshanda Jones, facilitated the project.
